A confusing amount of compliments

At first, I thought these readers were ridiculous. They‘re so large and bulky and I thought overwhelmed my face (I am a petite middle aged woman). But. Every time (and I do mean nearly every single time) I wear these, whether it's a zoom meeting or out running errands, people compliment them! It's gotten to the point I suspect the glasses are actually as ridiculous as I thought they were, and folks are just scrambling for something to say when caught staring at me. But my Gen Z coworkers assure me that they are in fact trendy and super cute.
Skepticism and cynicism aside though, I've had them almost a year and they've held up great. They're comfortable, the lenses are of surprising quality and easy to clean, and the blue light filter really helps. Also, they help me with driving at night.
So whether they're as fashionable as everyone assures me, they're exceedingly functional-- particularly for the price. And that's really all I needed anyway.
